Registered Veterinary Technologist Veterinary Technician – Full Time

Registered Veterinary Technologist required for a full-time position at our busy companion animal practice in Slave Lake, Alberta.  Slave Lake is a community of around 6000 people. Our town is located on Lesser Slave Lake, well known for its beautiful sandy beaches, excellent fishing, camping, and golf course. Slave Lake is 3 hours northwest of Edmonton and the Edmonton International Airport.

Hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm, with possible overtime due to emergency situations.  Shared rotating call to help if the veterinarian is called in for an emergency (only Monday to Thursday until 10 pm, no weekend on call).

Duties include collection of blood samples, perform radiographs, perform laboratory procedures, administer medications to patients and monitor in house patients, prepare and monitor animals during surgery, and ensure the hospital equipment is maintained and functional.

This is a great opportunity to utilize your RVT skills working with a dynamic, supportive team.  Currently we have 2 full time veterinarians, 2 full time RVTs, and 2 full time receptionists.  Our clinic is well-equipped with an in-house lab (Idexx Procyte Dx, Catalyst One and SediVue), ultrasonic dental unit, digital radiography (including dental radiography), Idexx ECG and Avimark software.
