Key Responsibilities
· Day-to-day operation and management of the Animal Health Clinic, which exists to provide hands-on training for the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) accredited Animal Health Technology diploma program as well as the Veterinary Medical Assistant certificate program.
· Leadership, performance management and coordination of veterinary lab technicians to ensure effective and efficient support to program instructors with laboratory and hands-on veterinary technologist competencies.
· Monitor and manage all expenses and revenues for the Animal Health Clinic to ensure adherence to the annual budget and provide input into the operational budget of the Animal Health Clinic.
· Provide guidance and direction to the Student Led Clinic (SLC) student teams to support the goals and objectives of the team and faculty advisor(s), including the operational, financial, production and marketing goals and activities.
· Foster a culture of respect and collaboration amongst staff, faculty, students, industry, and the public.
· Ensure compliance of the Animal Health Clinic with Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), Canadian Council of Animal Care (CCAC), and Practice Inspection Practice Standards (PIPS) certifications.
· Participation in lab technician duties such as preparation of lab in consultation with faculty instructor and assistance with students in completion of required competencies.
Job Requirements
· The successful candidate must be a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) in Alberta and be in good standing with the ABVMA
· Applicant must have five years of experience in veterinary setting.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
· Excellent organization, communication, and teamwork skills.
· Demonstrated passion for education and the field of veterinary medicine.
· Strong computer skills and experience with veterinary client management and medical record software.
